Song Interpretation
The character in this song is depressed. He is unable to see the world like an optimist does.
Whatever little light that he sees, he wants to hide from it and block it out from his life.
He sees people going around about their lives reveling under the same sun, but all he sees
are the shadows it casts.
He sees a funeral procession with black cars and is reminded of his dead love. He knows that
there is no breathing life into it. It is not easy for him to lead his life when he views the
world through his sad glasses.

When he was with her, his life was pure like the clear ocean enriched with life and goodness,
but now it has become stagnant and impure - a harbour for toxic and unresolved feelings.
He feels remorse that he could not reach out to her when she needed him the most.

Character is at the end of some sort of a peaceful phase in her life  and she is bracing for a storm that is about to come. She is ready , her heart is ready. She has undergone much preparation for the moment that matters and which is coming, it would be a shame now if it doesn't occur. She wants to dissolve in the moment and be it and own it.

When the storm begins she wants to stand strong along with her partner(s), even though it seems impossible and the faintest of chances that they will pull through the storm - she still believes in her and her partners. This is nice song with a great groove. The lyrics are self explanatory but you gotta love the way the author has transcended sex to feelings and love. 
The character in this song likes the company of his partner, he  knows that he is in the cusp of falling in love and is having a difficult time not knowing how his partner would respond to the idea. He is sure that he would and is loving her deeply and at the same time he wants her to give proof for their love, so that he can fall in love deeper and deeper.

The character in the song is sad, she is bruised and hurt probably by her past love or she has lost someone \ something precious she has involuntarily taken an oath of silence. She believes the world is a horid place where nothing good happens, she sees the world through sad glasses. On the surface she is calm and none of the people in her life notice the ever deepening hole in her soul, which can be filled only by love. She pretends to be ok and reflects the characters that people want to see in her but
she has closed core and her thoughts that truly make her. She thinks by doing this she can get past in life through various  sorrows of life, being numb is what she wants to be - so that no amount of sadness in the world can affect her.

She knows that her past memories will not occur again and she has no other option but to make new ones, which she feels is a long shot as she has come away from being herself and partly immune to not only the sad things that are occurring now but also the good things.

about the path to get there. She believes in illogical ways to get there.
This may be a reference to the way the Evangelists preach the ministry of
prosperity. The part where they say, donate gold\money\anything possible to
them and God will return you N times. There are also evangelists who sell
things in the name of god. Ex: A cut-out key of the size of a clock, which
is blessed by the lord and you can hang it in your home to keep your home safe.
This is nothing new, these things can be found in almost all religions.
Back in the middle ages the Church used to sell bonds for the redemption of sins.

So the lady here has fallen to the pattern where she leads a wrongful life
and is aware of it and to comfort her guilt she is buying her
forgiveness by spending money on things that she thinks will wash her sins.
(Like the ones mentioned above.) She is pretty confident that her ways will
open the doors to heaven.

meaning there will be changes to the way you live your life, you may have
to compromise on certain things but it is all of no harm - it is aimed
to build your character. It is a long process and time consuming , at every
cornor or turn there is a chance that you can miss the way and end up in
the very path you set out to leave or end up in the same path where the lady was.

I think the character is talking about the hardships which he is going through to overcome an addiction. Due to his addiction he has no friends all his ties with others are severed. All he has left are the fellows who are in this addiction. He feels lonely. He wants to wade through this misery by taking
the path which is lonely, he knows that it will take effort and pain to detox but he still wants to do it
even though there is no one to cheer him in this path, he is still managing to drag himself forward.
But he is been lurked by his shadow which is the temptation to go back to the addiction. It is right there following him in his every action constantly waiting to possess him. He knows that his heart is weak and prone to attack but he has a hope that it is capable of carrying out what he has set his mind upon. He wishes that the people who once cared about him will return back in his life and encourage him to completely set out of this addiction.
